felicia, sweet felicia

Featured Replies

hey all!

for a coupleof months iv been debating whether or not to sell my much loved felicia or not (was looking for a 90-93 celica). after alot of soul searching iv decided to keep her. it would be a shame since shes not even past her prime and only got 35k on the clock, so after all this i want to make her look nice, already done things here and there, but looking for some after market lights. preferably some angel eyes on the front or morete. i hear that that the mk1 polo would fit? or a golf? anyone know where i could get anything?

iv also been thinkin about my engine. how could i maximise performance? whats the best way to go round things?

:)

Good decision!

To improve the looks you may take a look here:

I'm not sure, but I think there are UK firms selling at least some of these parts - or you can of course order them fom the Czech Republic.

Maximum performance from a 1.6 engine: not my part of the woods, but others here might have good ideas. Hopefully Teflon Tom finds this thread, he knows what's worth trying! See http://briskoda.net/project-journals/project-q-felicia/75781/ :)

Polo lights don't fit.

As for "how can I maximise performance?" what can you afford? Awesome GTi have managed to fit a VR6 engine in a Felly!

hmmm, would I have made the same decision

already done, my insurance on the felly is 49 a month just now, to insure a celica is 39! but if i re-insure it would be about 35 on the felly. so roughly the same. i think its roughly the same on tax too

heres some pics of her taken a few months back...

iv just noticed she looks pink on these photos, must just be the rare british sunlight.....for a t reg 99 when i bought her she had no rust, lately iv only noticed one 5p sized bit of rust under one of the wheel arches.

so shes in good nick just now.

i would have never even considered a skoda, but after driving this, i will never scoff at one ever again.

Only other Felicia i've seen with the same wheels as mine! Get yours lowered

I'm sure I've spotted those wheels on ebay before. Not on cars, but sold alone.

yea im gona get it lowered eventually like. i got the alloys with the car, im missing 2 centre caps but cant seem to get them anywhere at all. iv seen the wheels on astras and vws before but still cant hunt them down. i was even temped to but astra caps and throw a badge over them but i wud rather have the real deal :(

I had five spoke alloys on mine - took my garage (not a Skoda dealer - but very helpful) a few months to track the centre caps down on mine. There are usually some numbers on the back of the caps you have got - a dealer should be able to sort something out for you - if not Jorily.

I think it looks good with six spoke alloys on and in good nick

Don't worry, Polo lights fit on felicia, but you must do some small modifications. I have manual for this. :)

Ah, I'd presumed the OP wanted to know if they were a straight bolt-on.

So that's right. Without modificiations lights don't fit there.

you want increased performance, the question is how much?

How much do you wanna spend?

How much more power do you want?

The cheapest ways, are aftermarket exhaust and filter, and a tune-up.

The more expensive ways (these will decrease efficency), boring the motor out, emerald ECU, and cylinder head porting, turbo's or superchargers.

Or Dropping a different lump in there. (much more economic for the power increase depending on the engine) TeflonTom is the guy to ask about that.

Or handling performance, ask Pinkskud about HP sporting coilovers.

I'm in sunderland.... If you're ever doign an order from Elri let me know and we should discuss splittign the postage.

i might take you up on that offer.

the lack of cash just now is holding my project back slightly.

the my next mod is new springs, should be gettin them mid feb hopefully.

performance-wise, my funds are at a minimum, i would love a new lump, something like a 2l to stick in, but my job commands little spare time, and unsociable hours.

iv considered a turbocharger, but im not really sure if its worth it, considering the money and extra power it gives.
