Leak into the boot Vrs Hatch

Featured Replies

Dear Skoda People

I have just noticed that my Boot Liner on the offside is soaked, i cant trace any water source and i was wondering if it was just the good lady opening the boot to quick as i have had problems on an old VRS of water pouring into the car due to the crap boot design... The Bootliner itself looks ok and not rotten

Cheers in advance

This is one of my pet hates with the Octavia VRS(and I don't have many) . When it rains (quite often lately), and I open the boot the rain just runs straight into the outer sides of the boot missing the drain channels completly. This will indeed make a nice wet patch on the boot liner, especially if the car is parked at an angle uphill. I have siliconed the window drain channel to try and make it better, but does not work that well. I would not worry about any leaks.

The other thing to look out for, is the rear window washer jet hose coming off the back of the wiper mouting nozzle. In the cold weather it can pop off and just dangle in the hatch behind the plastic cover and again leave water in the boot.

i had same problem due to rear screen washer hose connecter being uncoupled.this is located behind liner behind cd changer:)
