I have just brought my 1st skoda octavia vrs and am very impressed with it. I was just wondering if any one could tell me what the ars stands for. Any help would be much appreciated!

Regardless of what anyone else will tell you, the v is meaningless, and RS is short for RennSport (Race Sport in English). The term was first used by Porsche in 1953!

The one next to the heated rear window button?

It's the traction control. You'll see a little yellow warning sign come up on the dash when you turn it off, and when it's on the yellow sign will come up when you wheelspin and the traction control has to cut in.
