Most of the info is in the latest brochure, and the total depends upon how much you get done when you place the order for the car. Very approx (from memory, incl vat):

Factory electrical prep - if you go that route (which gets the most out of the car): £120

Towbar: £230

Accessory Electrics/Fitting by dealer: £140

13 to 7 pin plug: £140

This is straightforward and the MFD/Columbus graphics should work without any problems.

i had a quote of £650 for aftermarket fit. this includes 13 pin electrics and 13 pin to 7 pin converter. includes all the coding to make the gizmos on the car work. this price is for either a skoda bar or for a Bosal one. You get full integration. I dont have the factory wiring prep and it will not make any difference to be honest. I will still get deactivation of parking sensors, activation of trailer stability control, fog lights turn off on car, hill hold stays on longer to cope with extra weight, trailer bulb warning lights.

if you want more info send me a PM - i have spent a lot of time researching tow bars for my superb !

i was also quoted £650 from a main skoda dealer as well as an independant.

Thanks JCB.That seems like a lot of money but they seem to do everything.I was quoted €490 + 21.5% but he didnt know too much about the parking sensors.Told me there is a hidden switch to deactivate them!!!!!Hence I have no tow bar fitted yet.

When I originally ordered my Superb II, back in last October, the deal was £113 for tow bar prep (factory); £128 for tow bar electrics; £200 removable tow bar; £280 tow bar fitting - this totals £721. With the dealer shutting up shop before delivery as well as other issues, the order had to be replaced and has now been taken over by another dealer, keeping to the original prices. Shipping shortly, delivery now for 1st March.

Expensive, but on paper the best and neatest tow bar system, which should be well integrated with the cars electronic systems (alarm, stability control, parking sensors are all affected). I hope the various forum comments on electrical gremlims won't affect my car.

There are other threads on this site also relating to tow bars and fitting issues.
