just bought 1.9 dsg...a few questions

Featured Replies

hi folks, i just signed for a 1.9 dsg octy from alex lawrie liverpool. i am wondering if there are any taxi drivers out with the same setup as above and what realworld mpg your gettin, . Also has anybody had any reliability woes, or what pitfalls should i expect etc. any feedback would be much appreciated

Big thing is look after it.

The 1.9 is normally very reliable and should be economical too. The DSG is expensive if you get it wrong.

Make sure you use the correct oil in the engine. It must meet the VAG standards.

I have the same engine and transmission and its really not economical. It takes about 7.5l/km (don't know what that is in mpg)

I can't speak about reliability, i've only had it for 20.000km, no problems however.

It's not fast, but very nice to drive.

Hi there. I have a 2.0 140 PD with the dsg as my taxi and i am returning 38mpg taxiing. That compares to 45 mpg in my old 51 plate 110 tdi. All in all not too bad for a taxi with the extra weight and power.

I will be interested to read how you like the dsg. Please keep posted.

Regards, Derek
