CostCo Outstanding Price & Service

Featured Replies

Need some new tyres for my vRS so went to CostCo, Haydock Friday evening and picked up 4 x Michelin Pilot Sport 2's 225/40/R18 for £423.16 (They have 20% off for 4 tyres, until 15/02/09) fitted and filled with nitrogen. An excellent price, and the service was outstanding.

Let me explain, went in, I wanted 4 for the offer but was aware my rears were not that bad, fronts were slicks and just legal. The staff took mine off and advised the back two were only half worn and pretty good. But I still said I'd take the four. So, and this is the great bit....

They replaced my front two tyres with the new Michelins which are nitrogen filled by CostCo and put them on the rear. They then took the original two part worn rears Conti Sport 2's and refilled them with nitrogen, rebalanced them and fitted them to the front. Therefore leaving me with two brand new Michelins unfitted which I took away.

The best bit though, is that they will fit the two spare Michelins I bought FOC anytime in the future again balancing and filling with nitrogen, fitting them to the rear and moving the rears to the front.

So that should be me sorted for tyres for the next 35K+ miles :D

Not a bad deal!

Costco take a lot of beating in many aspects of shopping. Their attitude to the customer is alway very good also.

Great deal by the way.

Makes me glad to be a Costco member! Out of interest, do you remember how much the tyres are each at normal price?

Excuse my Ignorance! But what is the benefit of the tyres being filled with Nitrogen?

I've got the PS2's on mine and really rate them.

Was in MK Costco yesterday stocking up for the month.

Dad's coming with me when he needs new tyres, as had a mootch round and liked the deals on main brand premium tyres.

you get a more stable pressure at temprature with nitrogen, with air there is alot of water content this will leach out throught the rubber of the tyre causing pressure flucuatoins and will corrode the steel in the tyre , i have used nitrogen for a while after seeing the results on the rally cars i used to prep ,in france on the motorways mitchelin tyer stations will change the air for nitrogen , once again uk lagging behind , the aa are saying that under normal conditions you probabley wouldent see any diferance but m/way hard cornering, temp changes it may be adventageus

That is a very good price. Last time I asked (for my Octy) they were big bucks a corner.

Even Mytyres quote £140 per tyre.

For that sort of money if you have the ££ it's almost worth sticking 4 in the loft.

If I didn't already have two in the garage and reasonable ones on the car at the moment I would be investing.

Costco are unbeatable for their tyres and makes getting membership worthwhile just for the tyres. They run the various tyre discounts regularly throughout the year and can order in any tyre of they don't have it in stock. They now also offer Run Flats too - usually special order.

I know @ the MK Costco you can buy your tyres and pay for them there and then, but leave them at the store until you need fitting; which generally means that when you are ready, they will order and fit your tyres then...whcih is absolutely great.

Bought 4 at lunchtime. Currently sat in the boot/back seat so my car smells like a fetish wardrobe.

You can have them fitted anytime in the next 12 months for free provided you still have the paperwork.
