Skoda Servicing in the Midlands

Featured Replies

Could anyone recommend somewhere I can take my Fabia vRS for any servicing I may need in the future. I'm based in the Midlands area (I actually live in Bromsgrove), and the reason I ask is my warranty is up in just over a month, and after a couple of bad experiences with All Electric in Kings Heath, Birmingham (where I originally bought the car) I plan to never return there again.

Just got the car back at the end of last week after a 2nd attempt at sealing the rear door carriers, and after opening the rear door this weekend I have noticed part of the inside trim has been split open (you can't miss it when you open the rear doors, so likely someone will have KNOWN they damaged it). I also returned to the car to find my rubber mats turned dirt-side-down on the rear seats, and as anyone with a vRS will attest these seats are not the best colour for that! So as you can imagine I'm not best pleased with that place.

Somewhere affordable, but trustworthiness would be the highest priority.

Cheers for any suggestions.

I got my vRS serviced at the weekend from a bloke who looks after all my cars. He's a complete car nut.

Here's the details: Jay Lawley, Blue Ball Lane, Halesowen, West Midlands, B63 2UH, 01384 566948.

He'll look after it for you and won't rip you off. Just tell him I sent you!

All Electric were my supplying dealer, but like yourself, have been underwhelmed by the service I have recieved there. I have recently been using Central Skoda on the Tyburn road, just past Spaghetti and have been very happy so far, although it might be a bit far for you to travel.

And should I tell him "Dragonfly sent me"?

Sounds like a covert op!

:D

Yeah you can do, he knows me off another forum under that name! Or tell him the Scottish bloke with the silver vRS - Mr P Dagon.

And don't forget to tap your nose after saying my name*.

*pointless if you're on the phone!

If the car is set for variable service intervals then it must be reset by a garage with the correct diagnostic gear, if it needs servicing used cars every 10,000 miles then this shouls work :

Switch off ign ->press trip reset and hold ->switch ign on ->release trip button ->turn clock adj button to the right, should reset. If it doesn't do the above but hold the trip down while turning the clock one to the right.

VW Rescue as suggested by Dr Z is probably best for you: they have a good reputation.

My recommendation is a bit far away, probably: http://www.midlandvw.com.

Seems us scottish blokes who live in brum must have mk1 vrs's.

On topic I wouldn't go back to all electric either!! - Clowns

Faintree in Bridgnorth is where mine goes, they really know their stuff and the prices are good. Ask for Steve.

i can second stealth racing as they remapped my audi a2

DG Autotech have just opened- two top guys with a wealth of skills and knowledge- would trust them totally with my car. They're total petrolheads themselves, which is always a good thing. They're having my new Corrado for a full service and K-Jet setup at the end of the month.
