£200 fine, 6 points, £150 recovery for your car (which WILL be seized) and £20 a day storage until you get insurance (and prove that you have it) to claim your car back...

and with all the ANPR cameras around these days, I doubt you'd last another 30 years without geting stopped...

Put the money in a bank every year then after thirty years you will have about £20k

If you have an accident repair after only a couple of years then take a loan from a bank it WILL be cheaper

Bitter me?

I think you'd be wise to distance yourself from this opinion, at least in a public forum! Fools drive with no insurance.. at least get 3rd party...

Seriously think of the consequences before you claim on your insurance

Personally, I think that if you're caught knowingly driving uninsured your car should be crushed. I'm not sure you should be allowed to get out of it first, and you certainly shouldn't be for a second offence!!

And which part of "No Claims" is confusing you anyway? Oh and part of the problem may be you. 6 years back I wrote off my car in an "at fault" shunt. Since then I've been driving new, faster cars in higher insurance groups, and haven't yet paid what I got in that one claim in premiums. In fact, after 13 years, if I'd put my premiums in a bank account, I might have about £5_000 in it!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO K.

Got the car back today!

Yes, it's taken rather a long time to get back on the road but not because of anything un foreseen... just because my Mechanic had other things going on in his life... anyways,...

£426 - Parts

£900 - Labour (18 hours @ £50ph)

£53 - MOT (he ended up having it while the MOT expired)

Total - £1379

I actually think... considering he has got the wing looking almost like new, sucsesfully saved a load of parts from replacement, visited the Geo guys 3 times, replaced some pipes on he intercooler, polished the whole car, wet cleaned the interior, and chucked in the Fogs I bought while the bumper was off... that I got a good deal.

See, my excess is £300 and I've only got 2 years no claims (so un-protected).. The money I stand to save over the next 2 years of premiums, hopefully achieving 4yrs no claims whilst not going back to full price premiums, and not paying the excess looks to me to prob equal to the £1300, so I've not won or lost either way really..

I am sooooooooooooo happy to have the car back though :D

I am fully insured, just stating what YOU have stated

£200 fine and £150 recovery much much cheaper than paying at fault (when it is not) insurance for five years

Where is the insentive apart for thieving insurance companies

Someone hits you and runs off (not your fault but the insurance insist it is so increase your renewal)

Plod comes along and question YOU as the guilty party, even to the point of alchohol test

and do nothing, it was I that had to prove I had insurance, examined car that I had tax and MOT,

All because a business man smashed into my parked car and drove off

Witnessed but witnesses did not take reg number, just description of car and driver

"The landlord collecting rents in the street"

Now my premiums are through the roof

Over 39 years driving over 1.5 million accident free miles and at sixtytwo years old I have to pay £512 insurance on a Fabia VRS

£162 more than not bothering to insure at all and getting caught

The police run a safety campaign to slow drivers down

If that was the case they would be visible, NOT hiding in tree covered laybys or dips in the road

SP30 three points £60 and three years increased insurance premiums

Kick an old man, maime him for life, rob his wallet, 30hrs communtity service, suspended as he is a nice chav really
