Brake Caliper Problem - With none in the country!

Featured Replies

I have been having some issues with my brakes for some time. Being under warrenty, I took the car back in to complain of a constant squeeling on braking.

They striped the brake, gave the car back and said all is now fine.

The next day it happened again, dealer advised I give it a 'few days' to settle. Having done this, it just got worse, so took it back.

The dealer has just phoned me and advised that the caliper is faulty, every time I break it auto adjusts and continues to wind in. When trying to source a caliper they have said Germany is the only place they can get one from and it will be 7 to 10 days.

However, it is apparently dangerous to drive the car ( telling me after doing 5k miles with it like it!!!!!!)

Just wondered if anyone had encounted this issue before?

The calliper auto adjusts regardlessly anyhow, and can only go as far as the pads clamp the disc surface. Applying more pressure, just squeezes the disc a lil harder.
