can you fit Eibachs with the sports suspension?

Featured Replies

Hey all, Im just thinking about lowering my Octy, but I was wondering rather than splash out for coilies, would a set of Eibachs go well with the sports suspension? I assume the sports suspension is different shocks as well as springs?

how would the ride be and the height?

has anyone done this?

thanks!

The sports suspension is already lower than standard, all the eibachs will do is leave you most likely with the same ride height you already have.

You're lowered already with Sports suspension by as much as Eibacs would; so no point.

Could look at switching shocks to Koni FSDs.

@Bahnstomer - can I change to FSD's and leave my springs in place to cut down on the expense, I already have the "sport suspension" ??

I find my front ride height not too bad, but the rear is just to high, i could probably fit eight fingers between wheel and arch! prob only 3.5 at the front!

I suspect I might be giving Awesome a call for some of those AP coilovers, as long as they aint any harder than my current set-up

Yes, just fit FSDs to what you have; having 'sport' springs is just the same as having eibachs.

So in truth you are half way to the optimum (and recommended by many a vRS driver) system. :D:thumbup:

I would go that route myself, except Im pretty sure it wouldnt be low enough for me. Does anyone know if the AP coilovers compromise comfort?(compared to the sports suspension)

The ride height at the rear will vary constantly, things that affect are the amount of fuel in the tank, the load in the boot. An empty tank and nothing in the boot will result in a height significantly higher than if they were full.

The rear arches are also a different shape, if you set it so that 3.5 fingers were front/back then the car will look overloaded with your headlights pointing into space.
