Fuel sloshing sound Or is it drain points blocked? HELP

Featured Replies

Does anyone else hear their fuel tank sloshing around when coming to a stop?

I just noticed it today, and its terrible really. Never heard it on any other car. :(

I noticed it the other day putting the car in the garage. Never heard it before on a car but assumed it was something to doing with where the tank was located on the diesel which is silly I know as I guess it's in the same place as the petrol.

Ive had my car nearly 3 months and never noticed it.

I have a pretty full tank which I filled up yesterday with my usual Shell brand diesel.

Im going to the dealers on Tuesday cos my gearbox sounds wierd, and to sort out a leaky door seal, so ill ask then.

My car with these faults appearing is starting to make me nervous which really sucks :(

It would need to be a hell of a lot of water to get a sloshing sound inside the cabin.

Why don't you run you fuel down and then see if you can still hear it?

Havent had to before, so why the need now? But point taken...

Its the best answer I could find on the internet really and seemed kinda plausible.

Depends. Our Lupo had it, and it went away when I cleared the plenum drains- maybe 250ml at most, but my A3 had a rear quarter with a good litre in, with no sound.

Yes sometimes. Don't worry about it.

Have you checked that your door drainage holes are not blocked or frozen, water collects in these Octavia doors, you can see it coming out when you open the front doors right back after the vehicle has been standing for a time in the rain.
