Fabia VRS - first impressions

Picked up our 06 plate VRS last Monday (was black and shiny for about 5 minutes) and been up to the Lake District for the rest of the week. About the only place in the country without much snow trouble I think. .

Love the VRS to bits although still apprehensive with it (moving up from a Proton). Did the entire trip on a single tank of fuel - 463 miles averaging 51.4 mpg. Thought I might get a little more than that but there are a lot of third and fourth gear roads in the Lakes. Couldn't throw it too much round the corners either as Mrs Fairzo would probably have thrown up.

Feels like a lot of latent power there, opened it up when there was an opportunity on the M6 and was doing 90mph before I knew it. No lag on the turbo either.

Just need to get it clean now....

Trouble is you'll get used to the bit more oomph! then you'll be looking for power upgrades like every one else who has a PD engine.

I got prices for a remap while I was still looking round for a VRS. Keeping myself in check by not wanting to invalidate the warranty.

Bet you can't wait for your warranty to end.
