buying vrs shortly

Featured Replies

New here and this is my first proper post.

do you think circa 3k will get me a good fsh car?

want to try and keep mileage under 100k and dont want to buy ones that need things sorting on it mechanically.

am i asking too much or are they out there?

:(

not going to happen with my mk2 gti - will sell for what its worth (recession or no recession) and if after a couple of months it doesnt sell it'll be scrapped. i dont want anyone to get a bargain....i wouldnt expect a bargain off anyone.

obviously couldnt happen with a new car

Good logic that

its not really - its just selfish:P

bargains are out there - 52 plate TDi elegance estate (125k) for £1800.

Had to spend £200 on front suspension parts but otherwise it's a cracker

seen a few bargains - just over 100k but then i suppose high mileage isnt a problem if its fsh

thanks badboy

the first 2 are modified which dont suit, the other 2 dont mention fsh.

last one is being sold on here i believe. and looks and nice one. im going to wait until thursday to see what crops up on autotrader and will keep looking at pistionheads. the seller of the red one has had a few timewasters so dont want to add to that list until im genuinely interested.

Wots your golf gti like and how much is it mate

That looks very tidy mate surprised you cant shift that.Is it just an 8 valver

Is that in as good as condition as the photos suggest? Looks great, surely a shame if you ended up breaking it.

That's without a polish so can look nicer. Couple of cosmetics but after hours of work it's solid as a rock and will see plenty of mots yet. 172k

I would try that on ebay, have been looking at them myself but they always pull strong money

found one close to me with fsh and 127k - is that mileage ok if its been looked after or are this engine past their best at this point?

I would definately be asking about whether its had a 2nd cambelt and water pump change at 120k miles!

Mine goes pretty well having done over 107k now

I bought an octy VRS 2001 with 56k on the clock and full dealer service history off ebay just after christmas for £2400 and its in immaculate condition. I did though look long and hard (several months) and had to do a 300 mile round trip to get it and to be honest was lucky as I was first to view only a few hours after he put it on + he'd already had a load of interest. So yes it is possible but you have to be prepared to put the extra graft in!

have bought 88k red 53 reg Octavia vrs for just over 3k which in my book is pretty impressive considering the excellent condition. I know this post is pretty useless without pics so hope to sort them tomo.

They really are very good cars aren't they!

My mk2 Gol is now for sale, so if anyone wants a little toy car to have fun in pop over to clubgti
