vRS Front Wheel Bearing - Garage or DIY

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, Slid into a kerb @10mph in the snow, now got a rumblig/droning noise occurring -especially on right hand bends. pretty sure its the wheel bearing as the wheel in question is stiffer to turn. Question is is it a DIY job or a garage job to replace the bearing?

Its fairly easy as the unit bolts on, no press etc required.

You just need some really big spline tools, pretty sure its an M14 to unbolt it.

Thanks Lummox, have you any idea of bearing cost and how long the labour is to change at a dealers?

I had two changed on my first Octy (which ended up not to be the problem, it was the cr@p tyres) and they were quite cheap.
