i have a problem with my mk1 vrs ocky, started a while ago but has now got worse, every time i put my foot down to accelerate the revs build up but it wont accelerate, then after the revs build up they drop off and all of a sudden the power kicks in, only real way i can describe it is if its in netrual and im reving the engine

sorry for the rubbish explanation but its hard to describe, it does it in all gears as where before it was only in higher gears, it was in skoda for a service in jan and i told then it was doing it occasionally but there were no fault codes and they didnt find anything upon inpsection

Sounds clutch related to me. Contaminated clutch maybe?

i did say that to the techie when it was serviced by skoda in ayrshire and he said no

so i dont know what route to go down

if engine speed increases but vehicle speed doesnt then its got to be the clutch, either contaminated or just worn.. HTH

well its looking like the clutch, more more i read about it the more it seems to be the only answer

got it booked in to my local skoda, god know how much im going to get stung for that:(

Get yourself a Golf VR6 clutch and G60 flywheel...

Could also be the throttle position sensor.

just had it in at skoda

need a new clutch and flywheel
