A dual map?

Featured Replies

Is there anything on the market for the vrs which allows you to run both the standard map and then a slight increase in performance map? Obviously switchable so you can have the standard map with everyday driving then the custom map for when you want to have a bit of fun?

Ive had a look through the search function and havent really seen anything mentioned about it or im looking for the wrong thing?!

Thanks in advance

you can switch maps using vagcom..

Wont that be quite tedious though having to connect a laptop to it and so on? I was hoping for something along the lines of just simply hitting a switch?

Sounds like a Bluefin or a One-Click is what you're after...

Thanks, ill have a gander online :)

Can you do this with any map ?

Or are you talking about Jabba maps.

(i'm on a Revo map)

Any VW Audi Seat Skoda tuning co. will remap your engine. Onlly 2 or 3 will provide multiple maps with somesort of switching arrangement. Have a look at the tuners on the forum Like Jabba, Revo. etc. there are links to each of these companies. Bernie.

I have a Revo map which comes with a switcher so you can insert it into you diagnostics port and revert it back to stock 130bhp. I have to be honest though since having it I have never once used it in a whole year!

Not any map.

The tuner has to seperate the maps into different sections of the memory so that you can then swap between them.

Usually if a switching option asked for tuners may just modify all copies of the maps.

I know that on the MK5 Astra its possible to Map it so that in standard mode you be running for example sat 150bhp on the SRI 150, but then when you push the sport button, the performance map is engaged and you then have 200 ponies. is that not possible on the fabia through the use of say the ASR button?

Wish it was that easy. I think some off the ECU's don't have enough memory capacity to hold 2 maps so a simple switch is out off the question.

I can see why you may want switchable maps if your car is still under warranty, but otherwise could you manage with just a custom map - you don't have to push it to the limit all the time.

Just lighten your right foot a bit for everyday driving and you should be OK - and indeed could possibly see fuel economy benefits.

Unless you worry that you wont be able to resist the temptation?

We're talking about fabias here. they have plenty of memory :)

But no, you cant switch them with any "sport" buttons or anything.

Further to that, if you want to switch to standard because of fuel economy, you'll actually get more economy with the remap driving sensibly.

There you go, the Jabbasport man knows all the answers so hes the one you want to ring.

Its more that i wont be able to resist temptation along with the fact ill only be running a standard clutch!

Had a PD130 remap by Jabba on standard clutch holding 186bhp was ok for 6years and no slip. So as you only want a slight increase in performance( your words) how about 160bhp, It shouldn't be a problem. As been said above the custom remap will a. give you a quieter engine, b. be smoother, c. more acceleration, d. better mpg. All in 1 map and no fiddling around with switches, boxes etc.

Commision from Jabba accepted LOL!

£420 inc VAT for a custom map performed on the rolling road. Switchable via VAG-COM :)

I have a switchable Star Map on my Fabia vRS... you get a dongle that goes into your OBD2 port behind the change drawer to the right of the steering wheel... however i believe the 130 map is star's version of the 130map so still not quite standard...

my friend had a Leon Cupra R with a revo fully adjustable map, you could run high boost, low boost, performance... quite a handy piece of kit :)

The fully adjustable maps are for petrols only though, on the dervs you can just turn it on/off (also on Revo).
