jus one thing on the APR trial and prob the REVO one. dont get them unless you know someone who can get round the encryption as no matter what the rep says they are encoded so only they can remap the ecu. the only way round it is take the ecu out and remove one of the chips, or by having a certain box that you plug in to the socket.

I tried the APR trial from Awsome, but after I got a custom code generic remap from JBS on offer. They didn't remove the ecu & they didn't have any problems uploading the Generic map.

they will have the same box thing that RST have then id of thought.

spose it all depends on who you go to after.

Any decent tuner with quality tools can remap the 1.8T ME7.5 ECU after a REVO or APR trial, they dont just change the flash data like most maps, the eeprom is also changed and this is what confuses some "tuners" Some will remove the ECU to program it in "boot mode"

Easy enough to adjust once you know what you are doing.

I'd presumed, in my software engineering rather than car tuning naivety, that any permanent remap would be flashed.

Yes REVO and APR flash the map, its just they dont flash the same data areas that everyone else does.
