Hi all,

Strange request I know but just wondered if any furby owners have roof racks to transport bikes on their car, so I can get a look and if you can recommend any good ones.

If so stick up some pics!

I've got the Skoda roof bars - here they are with my roof box mounted on them - obviously you will need cycle carriers instead!

The bars and any attachments are usually sold separately.

For the bars I would suggest OEM Skoda ones which I have (part number is LAT 410 001) or Thule ones - I think the OEM ones are made by Thule anyway.

I don't have much experience of cycle carriers but again Thule is a name I would trust after lots of years carrying canoes around.

I've got thule ones and a thule cycle carrier, had the for about 18 months with no problem. Don't have any pics though, sorry.

Thule... Thule.... Thule!!!! I've tried other brands and had nothing but problems, they're a bit more expensive but they are worth it for their quality. The interchangeable parts mean that if you change cars you generally dont have to get a whole new set, but just one part. Buy from The Roof Box Company: sales and hire of snow chains, Thule roof boxes, Autoform, Fapa, Kamei and Karrite roofboxes, roof bars, bike carriers, and other car and travel accessories they have great customer service and prices. I use thule Bars and Freeride bike carriers on my Fabia, very sturdy and confidence inspriring.

davie if you want a thule set, we sell them at our shop. not sure of price, i had priced them up last year for my car but still not done anything about getting them lol

Not want the rear mounted ones? Halfords (where I work) sells them!

Try the local skoda dealer, they might be cheaper than anywhere else, stranger things have happened!

I got the skoda bars thrown in as part of the deal when I bought it and they are made by thule, and have a thule rack to go on them. I don't use them much as the bike I use most has a 20mm through axle fork so they don't fit without an adaptor, I usually end up either taking both wheels off and throwing it in the car or getting a lift in my mates van.

Hi I noticed the cycle carriers in Halfords at the weekend, still not purchased any yet, just waiting to I get paid as a bit skint at the moment but might just purchase the Skoda bars and the halfords carriers.
