Featured Replies

hi

i have just finished fitting the stage 2 hybrid turbo from turbo from turbo dynamics to my car

now after alot of research and thought ive decided to go with superchips

im just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with superchips custom mapping and rolling road,eg have there been any problems with the map,has the car put out same power on different rollers, etc

thanks in advance

hi mate

I had my Passat tdi 100pd done by superchips about 40k ago and i have to say it is brilliant, i never had it on a rolling road sorry can't help you there. But the quoted figures were about 30+ BHP can't remember the torque but it was alot. i'm glad i did it because it goes really well, in fact a young mechanic who's own car was a heavily modded scooby said "it's quite quick isn't it! which i took as a pretty big compliment:thumbup: and by the way the only problem i have had with that car is the VW passat bath impression that blights these otherwise very good cars:eek:

Sorry - but you cannot do better than Richard Washbrook (oscarli.com). He visited here in Bahrain, and I had a few long discussions with him - he knows his stuff inside out and is simply the best IMHO. He used to change maps on a daily basis on his old Polo 1.9PD, constantly tweaking them.

He was able to map Shifty's old car when others fell flat on their faces, and I tried his map, that from another well-known tuner and there is no comparison tbh..

If I'm not mistaken - Lummox (Ross) provides maps from him.....

My 2p mate.

My current map is a superchips one, they mapped conservatively and it was on similar hardware.

New map will be via Ross, and I have a feeling it will give a fair bit more power.

The superchips one is very mild, and is 'clean' - i.e. as near as damn no smoke (probably cleaner than stock even).

Please note this map was done well over a year ago and as always, maps get tweaked over time and improved.

Washbrook's maps are excellent for sure :)
