I have done some maps for everyone but they are not that detailed but you get the general idea.

If anyone wants to view the route in more detail PM me and I can email you a .kml file to view in google earth.

Thanks

Thanks Phil

I've driven a version of the route tonight. (Tried to do it in old timer mode)

I managed to run over a dead badger, aaah the joys of the countryside

cheers ... Darren

Hehe.

Clocked it on the map at about 35 miles right round.

So other than dead animals is it a good run?

Phil

Well apart from nearly sinking into a field (very soft verge) to let a wagon through, that's one disadvantage of doing the route in the dark. I thought about trying some "green lanes" too, but I guess any lowered VRSes would get stuck. If you've got adjustable shockers, I'd be tempted to set them for comfort in places!!

I tried to do 1965 octy speeds so the satnav trip counter showed a peak speed of 58mph, the highest altitude was 42 feet (on a bridge) and lowest was 3 feet, so if you went into some of the ditches you'd get into the minuses!!! There's marks on the road in a few places that suggest people have been (nearly) airborne and had a nice scrape on landing.

Overall, a pleasant country drive

cheers ... darren

Cool... i'm sure everyone will get on just fine. Afterall we're not idiots and can hopefully use a bit of common sense when it comes to judging bumps etc.

Looking forward to it.

Oh and I fully intend on going a little faster than 58mph ;)

Well I did the route again this evening with a little daylight but in the rain.

The sat nav said altiudes ranged between -9 feet and +65feet.

35 miles took 54 minutes.

Called in for a £3.95 meal at the pub,

they've reserved a side room off the main bar area for us.

Oh good, as I'm hopeless at it!

Yes 59.999mph can be attained on the straights :D

If anyone is interested I have converted the kml into a Tomtom intinerary file so you can use your tomtom to guide you round the route!

Have just run the demo on my tomtom navigator 7 and it seems to have it spot on.

Anyone wants it give me a shout.

Just put it into the "itn" folder on your tomtom and load it in the itinerary section then when you press done it will ask to navigate to "null" and then off you go.

If you want to run the demo to preview it though you will have to set a star place just before the destination ( the finish point) it will then drive past it and follow the route.

God I hope all that made sense! I'm tired and need to go to bed!

Woke up this morn to find a Transit van had rolled away and parked it's self on my driverside front corner. :rotz:

The tipper bed has run up the bonnett and the light bar has chewed the front bumper and the leading edge of the wing. The bumper and wing will be ok but the bonnett is a right off. Had a quote arond £800

The bloke is insured thank god but I bet its in the bodyshop when this meet comes around. But I might have the fun of a hire car.

Regards Chris

Oh dear! At least its getting sorted and who knows you might be lucky and get something decent... either that or a fiesta! hehe.

Still at least you'll be able to thrash the nuts off it and not worry about it being your car :P
