My Car Is Wanted

Featured Replies

Took the car in to the dealer's after work to get the Cambelt/water pump done and MOT for tomorrow and on a notice board saying" Customers Are Wanting These Cars " and a list of models which included mine. How does this work ??, will I get more money for my car because it is in demand??.

Probably just a quicker sale... after all the dealer isn't going to do all the work for nothing.

Honda use to use this method to try and entice you to buy a new(er) car

They would either ring or write to you telling you that your particular model was in great demand but short supply and so they could offer you a good deal on trade in.

Just a marketing ploy!

Indeed, just a ploy to tempt you into a new car I reckon.

Im not so sure, when I went to buy ours they hadn't even advertised it. I rang round and he said I was the 3rd person that day to ask if he had a vrs with low mileage. I was the first to see it when the previous owner had just dropped it off and picked up her new Octy VRS. They said they always have a quick turn around on the Fabia VRS as they are so in demand...?

Which could be yet more saleman speak to hurry you into making a decision. :)

Fabia vRS's and estates are genuinely in-demand cars.

They're relatively cheap to buy and run, and they are very good cars to drive and live with.

I've had two dealers offer to buy my car for cash, although the last one wanted the original suspension and stereo to put back on.
