Fabia VRS droplink question

Featured Replies

does the fabia vrs use the same droplinks as the rest of the range, as I know the front arb is slightly thicker?

The reason I ask is this!...

I currently have mondeo droplinks as I have ap coilovers but apparantly they are not needed no gonna put some new OEM ones back on!

As you can see on full lock it appears to be touching the arch liner!

Also, found this on the passenger side, which I am guessing is CV grease?!

Unlucky lad. I changed a cv boot on mine. Have plenty of rags ready

if that's the outer CV joint I would check it hasn't got onto the brakes as it may have knackered the pads. Also won't help with braking.

Ross used Ford droplinks on mine, IIRC mondeo ones, he posted it up in the thread :)

would this split boot explain why I'm getting clicking/ knocking noises when turning at low speed?

how hard a job is it?

Yeps that'll explain it. Pretty easy really. Just remember to knock the cv joint off. There arent any pins holding it on

if your getting a knocking noise then that would maybe say to me that the joint is away as well as the boot actually being off

Had the car up today and the INNER boot from the wheel has split just after the clip on the inside.

Boot just behind the wheel is fine, but there is ****LOADS of grease everywhere, and its clicking a bit on full lock.

whats the damage?

Worst case the damage should still be only on the CV joint, the grease is worth cleaning off a bit where it is on the engine etc I guess.

I'd try to get it looked at soonish though to avoid further damage to the joint itself, it may be that the knocking is not 'too bad' so the joint will live for a bit, but more likely you'll have to replace it.

Does anyone have a part number for the inner cv boot kit, and how do you replace them?

If the joint is clicking, replace the joint and boot, you don't want to do the job twice believe me.

how much are the joints and boots from skoda?

how much are the joints and boots from skoda?

IIRC the inner kit is £70 for the complete kit. Prices may have changed a tad though.
