I have a 2003 fabia 1.2 petrol 70K.

The car has started making a strange creaking type squeltching noise, it sounds as if it is coming from around the bulkhead?

The noise occurs when depressing the brake pedal, or releasing the clutch pedal and sometimes when I go over bumps.

I am aware that the clutch and brake share a common resevoir.

Would appreciate any suggestions.

Could be engine and or gearbox mountings giving up. Could also me pedal shafts needing a quick lube with WD40. Unlikely to be master/slave cylinders unless they were both noisy. Try rocking the engine by hand (grab a cold part), you may get the noise doing that.

I wouldn't rule out consule bushes, ARB and droplinks either.

i'd bet its the arb bushes gripping on the anti roll bar.

It makes the noise both when the car is and isn't moving.

could it be air in the system?

Air wouldn't make a noise and you would feel air in the loss of performance in brakes and/or clutch.

Best get it looked at as anything else on here is just guess work.

I Agree with Lummox,

Arb Bushes, Mine does it & you can hear it from the Bulkhead area, I did think that there must be a Grommet (Not Wallace ) missing in the bulkhead as it seemed so audible

But there was not ....
