is a standard front favorit strut the same as felicia

Featured Replies

I see some posts on here about front suspension being the same on favorit and felicia.

I have looked on carparts direct and the part number 44494 apply for all favorit and felicia, i think this could be and insert. Does insert include cup for bottom of spring? as this is what has gone on mine (like usual!)

the other part number is G35983 this is oil under pressure of gas shock (which mine should be i think. this part is listed only under favorit. and for felicia the only option is the 44494 which i believe is just insert??? unless you have abs which i don't

Car Parts Direct

basically what i'd like to know is. Does insert (44494) have spring cup? and/or will G35983 fit on my felicia pickup 1.9D with no ABS. I am going to use the springs from my pickup.

many thanks

i hope someone can answer my question

has anyone tried fixing up a shock? like the spring dish? i know it's a bit dodgy but i'm talking short term till i get another one. also, how the hell to get the clamp pin out? i snapped the nut off and then the head! now it's just stuck in there with all the hammer and punch work i like to give it. will heat help? is it threaded to one side of the wheel carrier or does it supposed to slide out?

cheers

Just a case of whacking it out, a bit of heat might help, or drill out the centre of it. I wouldnt try repairing it as the spring is very strong and its doubtfull wether a repair would be strong enough without any heat transfer from welding, getting to the seals in the shocker

Speaking from experience - a Favorit strut is the same as a Felicia one except for one tiny detail. The Felicia version has a little support welded on for the ABS sensor cable. So a Felly strut will fit a Fav, while a Fav strut will fit a Felly as long as you bodge something for that cable.

Hi, I've been looking around at the prices of favorit front shocks and can confirm that part no 44494 does not have a spring cup, it is the insert only.
