HI all

I have a octavia 1.4 16v classic on a 51 plate

yesterday the engine management light came on car still drives ok

had a look under bonnet i noticed that there is a ticking noise comming from

a black box this is next to the coolant tank

it has 1 hose on it and a 2 pin plug on it as well

it is next to the power steering resovior is this the ecu?

the last time the light came on 3 yrs ago the timming belt snapped

Sounds like the charcoal cannister and that noise is normal unless it does it from cold. You need a code scan then post the results up and we should be able to help from there.
