Change Tyres Before or After Weekend Hoonfest?

Featured Replies

My car is booked in to have my Toyo T1-Rs fitted (fronts only) on Thursday but i've got a Brecon Beacons hoon lined up for the weekend.

It likely to be dry so do I go ahead and get the new tyres fitted or stick with my current tyres which are legal but close to needing a change?

I though you actually got more grip on a dry road with less tread...

change now or after the trip?

I'd rather be on well worn tyres than brand new tyres when going for it.

The first 100 miles on my goodyear eagle f1s were horrible! :D

I'd shred the old ones if it were me.

100 miles is only one day's commute so that'll be over quickly!

I'm tempted to leave them on if its dry.

hoonfest??:)

hoonfest??:)

That one tickled me as well :rofl::rofl:

Bought from Camskill.co.uk for £58 each delivered. NG Motors in Cardiff (near my work) will balance and fit them for a fiver each.

Ha ha I know N+G, funnily enough they are near where I work as well, never used them though. :)

They have fixed a coolant leak, wishbone bushes and popped intercooler pipe for me in the last two weeks.

yeah if dry id stick to the old ones

old ones all the way, gives you the excuse as well in case you find a hedge "damn tyres, I was due to have them changed next week"

or the old tyres will lead to your untimely demise:D

The Proxes aren't too bright 'til they're scrubbed in, Then they're bloody fantastic

Hello

If the old tyres are legal and safe keep using them, if not change them.

Remember safety first. !!!!

Again what is a Hoonfest? Stick with the old tyres if dry. If its gonna rain have the new ones fitted.

New tyres on the front?

It's reccommended to put the best rubber on the rear end.

change of plan! I must get the front tyres changed tomorrow (friday) as the left one is almost a slick. Looked "just" about legal right on the edge but with the wheel turned out its pretty bad.

I've got a 50 mile motorway drive back before saturday's drive. Maybe some F1 grid style weaving is in order to get some life into the new tyres

hoonfest = hoon festival (hoon = spirited or fun drive) = hoonigy = hoon-off = hoonosity and so on.

I can't justify replacing the rears yet, they have acres of deep tread left

Aye......... haven't any of you ever hooned around before ???
