Just been looking through your flickr account, some nice shots.

Interesting article

My mates were already on it and so as a casual user joined up. If I was a pro I'd certainly look into it more. Some pretty good stuff on it though. Have facebook not just had a big problem averted when they suggested they would own the copyright of all posted pictures? Whilst it may take away embedded copyright from the image it is still there when you look at pictures, either creative commons or just pure copyright.

The ability to create groups is quite good as you can have private groups to share pictures, say in your case a Uni/College project but in my case it gets used for weddings and that sort of thing where people don't want their picture public.

Some of my piccies here. Only just getting into it this year, so hoping for a good summer!

Hi Burnsey

Some nice pix there, I notice you've got some very blue skies.

I'd got a photobucket account, but opened a flickr one when photobucket was down one day, I've noticed that lots of railway photographers use fotopic.net , not noticed anyone ever mention it on here though.

cheers ... Darren

thanks, that'll be mainly the polariser on the 50mm ones. still need to get one for my 18-200 zoom though, and maybe some other filters as well. Sometime I try to expose to get as blue a sky as possible, but this can be to detriment of foreground details so need to learn to balance that a bit more.

I used to use fotopic and it worked well. But they did have a massive network issue earlier on this year which kept them off line for a week or so

Also, the free account limits you to 200MB which can be quickly reached if you start uploading high quality (minimal jpeg compression) large photos.

You can then get a paying account but I found the limits too much for what they had to offer. So I went with smugmug and really happy with them. The basic account isn't that much when you think what it brings compared to the photobuckets, fotopics and flickrs.

Google picasa web is pretty good too :)

If you want to go with smugmug, I do have a referral code which gives you a discount.
