Got to work this morning and went to lock the car with the remote but the drivers door wouldn't lock (the other doors locked fine). I then tried the key in the lock and that didn't lock it either. Finally I sat in the car and tried the button on the armrest that locks all the doors - no joy either.

My drivers door inside handle cable has broken and I'm having to open the window and use the outside handle to get out at the moment - I'm wondering if the problem is connected to that?

It's just really p***ing me off at the moment because the car has been comparatively trouble free for almost a year now and just as it goes out of the 12 month warranty I've got loads of things going wrong with it

Just remembered I disconnected the battery at the weekend, with the drivers door open, when I took the door card off. I also forgot to plug the controls in the armrest back in before I reconnected the battery. Don't know if these would have any effect on it?

Does anyone know if there is a reset procedure? If I disconnect the battery again with all the doors shut, then reconnect it and try and lock and unlock with the key in the door might that fix it?

Problem resolved - I sat in the car and pressed down on the knob on the door while locking it. Now locks and unlocks fine.

I have only myself to blame as a little ring shaped bit of plastic fell out of the door card when I took it off at the weekend and I thought it had come from underneath the bit where the locking knob pokes out, so I pushed it back onto there. This had made it too tight for the knob to move in and out (oo-er :P) so thats why it wasn't locking.

Now I just need to figure out where that little bit of plastic actually came from... :confused: hope its not important

glad you got it sorted out. You will always have spare parts when you start taking things apart :P

Glad your issue is sorted, I still have the driver door problem where interior light and door light not being triggered with door open. I got some spare micro switches from radio shack and now need a day to mess around with dismantling the locking mechanism and replacing the switch. Will post pics when done

I think a picture guide on how to re-solder one of those locking mechanisms would be really handy. Every few days someone on here seems to have a central locking problem :(
