Post for my mum... The car is 3.5 years old and the air con has packed up, its no longer pumping out nice conditioned air but just normall air... any suggestions?? or is it a trip to the dealer :thumbdwn:

aircon probably needs regassing.

Regassing at 3.5 Years old! More Like The Evaporator Vent Sensor or Something Electronic! My Car has a Knackered Vent sensor so It blows normal air!

Check on the site for other recent threads on this topic.

The usual suspect appears to be the sensor.

If you can find someone local with VAG-COM or take it to your dealer to have them run a diagnostic check against it. As others have said, at that age it is likely to be the Evaporator Temp Sensor (dash out job to change! :eek: ), however, it may just be that the air con needs regassing which is about 60 quid. My sensor went at 3.5 years and there was a sudden change from nice cool air to normal air. If it's deteriorated over time, it points more to a regassing.....
