car goes into the body shop next week to get sorted :D

Glad to help Clive. Car is running really well now with the new MAF and elephant mod.

Loving the LG was really useful after the TB clean , debating whether to upgrade the software or wait for a few more releases first to see what improvements are made.

Ian

elephant mod???

elephant mod???

see here for all 9 pages, basically another handy pikey mod care of Basil.

Elephant mod, venting the CCV via a hose to atmosphere down by the subframe and capping the inlet. Similar to your catch can but not recirculating into the inlet tract. Air intake and oil temps are down a few degrees as a result and all the air entering the engine is 100% clean

i havent got a catch tank yet....

can you post a pic and parts used please buddy i might do the same  as there is bugger all space for a catch tank :o

Could have sworn I saw a catch can in your engine bay  My mind is not what it was or maybe I was reeling from the price of the coke in that bar

Will take some pics tomorrow and post them here.

Ian

lol you did choose the most expensive pub in the land for a drink

whish pipes go where ?? ie pipe from rocker cover what one do you block off??

Right the Y shaped pipe that goes to the PCV (Think thats what it's called) on the intake pipe is what takes the stale oily air into your intake system gunking your intercooler and TB on it's travels. I removed the PCV from the intake pipe and plugged the hole on the inlet with a rubber stopper and clamped it with a jubilee clip. put about 3ft of 19mm rubber hose through the engine bay and jubilee'd it to the PCV and cable tied the lower end to the strut brace....job done. have you read Trundlenuts link? it is a good read.

PS: this isn't mine but gives you an idea how i'm venting mine.

cheers mate so just block the whole where the pipe goes into the inlet and extend the pipe that went there to the floor:confused:

cheers mate will try and come down your way once the car comes out of the body shop so you can see the chenges:D

Yeah would be good to meet up again. I know a good pub near Watford lol.

As said will take pics of it tomorrow so you can see what the top end looks like as well but yes you have pretty much hit the nail on the head. Really is a pikey mod cost me less than a tenner and I still have enough pipe and rubbers for another install if you want them, I'm all out of 25mm jubilee clips though.
