The Sigma 10-20mm Wide angle

Featured Replies

Since buying this lens it has become the most used. It very rarely leaves my camera.

Here's why.

I have a 50mm 1.8 too, it really is an amazing lens for the price, everyone should have one:cool:

I'm thinking about the Sigma 30mm f1.4 now. It gets great reviews and it's another lens that won't break the bank @ £375. Still can't believe the 50mm is a quarter of the Sigma price:eek: That's a value for money lens:thumbup:

Wide angle is great fun. I would have bought this one too, but went for the Tamrom 17-35mm 2.8-4 because it's full frame compatible. But the distortion you can get is fantastic, and for wide angle portrait stuff, it's really punchy and light.

Chris, I have the 30mm 1.4. It's an absolute corker. Very light, fast AF which doesn't slow down too much in low light. Use it on my D200 quite a bit. Tempted to get the 50mm 1.4 as a replacement on a D700. If only the 30mm wasn't a DC lens ;)

If you want to try it, you're welcome to come over to Reading / Basingstoke some time and give it a go

FYI, I bought mine second hand for £210. Absolutely mint condition and saves a bit of new rrp. In fact, Mifsuds (who are in London ;)) have one going for £219: Mifsuds.com Latest Used Prices

Very nice Chris - I've been meaning to get one for a while. What speed is it?

Steve

Yes very nice photos!

Loving the hanger shot.

Cheers Steve.

Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 Not exactly fast. However Sigma have just annonced a new version of the 10-20mm which I think is a constant f3.5, probably be a lot more money though, I would expect about £500+

Thanks, I love that building, Just wish I could get a nice sky over the top of it. That was a gloomy day:(

D700 is awesome. Well, it's of course a bit bigger, heavier than my D200 and D70.

But particularly the low light / high ISO is just too darn good. When I compare it to the D200 it's night and day (no pun intended). At ISO800, the D200 is already showing very visible noise. Nothing on the D700.

The viewfinder is very nice too - the amount of light and size of it makes manual focusing easier and it's just more pleasant to use. My only gripe about it is that it's about 95% or so, not 100% like D3 or D300.

Sounds nice. I haven't had a play with one yet but I can safely say I'll be having one in the future.

I have always aimed for the D3 but looking at one in Parks Cameras made me realise how big that sucker is:eek: It really is a monster. I think the D700 will be as far as I go. It has most of the features from the D3 anyway plus same sensor etc so sounds like the one for me.

Come on lottery:D

Got it
