What service should I expect?

Featured Replies

My Octavia II is going into the dealers as there is a problem with the service indicator. I suggested that the dealer should not reset it without a service [which was accepted] and that as the work is under warranty, the service should be FOC [again accepted].

What type of service is it realistic to expect i.e what should be replaced/checked in anticipation of the service interval being reset after the fault has been rectified?

I'd expect only an oil change, however I'd expect them to use the correct oil for your regime, eg long life oil if you're on variable servicing.

What will be done? I'd say drain the oil, new oil filter, new oil and nothing else.

Is the oil sensor faulty?

Had the car 9 months [on variable]. Days & mileage on service interval display just keep increasing - expected this at first until things settled down after the initial service. They reckon a fault with the dash insert? :confuse:
