How much BHP got from the 1.8 vRS?

Featured Replies

I seem to recall 240 as limt?

That's about it

Plus 9.1bhp. :D

Thats with a standard turbo, custom remap and just about every intake and exhaust modification you can throw at it

602bhp is the most power I've ever heard of from a vRS.

JBS demo car. I have the magazine article at home somewhere.

Big turbo and nitrous obviously, but it was still FWD and still had all the seats in!

What cc was the JBS one?

Think it ended up as about 1900cc, but I'd have to check

Not sure if it's just a result of the new pistons and rods or whether it was bored out with bigger diam. pistons.

Isn't this dependant on how much you want to spend?

I think the OP is refering to a stock (KO3) turbo'ed vRS.

240ish with a stock turbo, FMIC, and freeflow exhaust.

If you've got a bottomless wallet, I've heard of several 600bhp plus claims (usually in modified Golfs or TTs).

I got 240 with just a custom remap and boost controller from Jabba a few years back, approx £500. Running exlusively on Tesco 99 RON helped a lot mind you...

240 on Jabba's rollers then. I'd be surprised if you saw more than 225 to 230 on Awesome's.
