hesitation/ misfire

Featured Replies

Got a problem with my felly 1.6. It hesistates/ pulls back when cruising especially below 2500rpm acceleration is fine cruising at 60mph+ is also ok Itcan also be heard "missing" when idling. I have recently replaced plugs, leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm and coil pack and nothing seems to compleatel cuer the problem. Any thoughts?

have you done a diagnostics check on it yet?

suggest checking the ignition timing, you cant do it in the normal way with a timing light though, you need to get somebody with vag-com to but it into basic settings then adjust

getting a hometune guy I trust to have a look............fingers crossed

I just did service my Felly, and I fitted different type of spark plugs (received the 1 electrode type, and usually got the multiple electrodes type).

After the servicing done, I experienced misfire/hiccup on idle as well.

I refitted some multiple electrodes spark plugs, and it now goes back to normal.

Check if the spark plugs are tighten correctly...

Now, I'm thinking of replacing the voltage regulator which seems to be a bit weak.

Its got NGK multi electrode plugs on it, haven't touched the timing as according to the Haynes manual it isn't a diy job (unlike my old favorit, Rapid and 2 estelles). Of course the thing ran fine today, no hesitation at all, but it won't last if past experience is anything to go by.

found out the problem, the new rotor arm was breaking up. New rotor arm and yet another dizzy cap and all's well. She is back to full performance!!
