vRS stutter

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if changing the 25mm gasket to a 9mm gasket between egr valve/engine [to hopefully cure the stutter] and the addition of a pd 160 air intake affect warranty issues? This stutter is driving me bonkers!

What sort of warranty issue is going to lead to your dealer checking the gasket size? The 9mm gasket will almost definately throw up a fault light.drill to 10.5mm. The replacement gasket has "tabs" presumably so the dealer can see at a glance if one has been fitted. Carefully hacksaw them off before fitting to hide the modification. Much more info on sticky above which I'm sure you read thoroughly before posting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have read all about the famous stutter on fabia-vrs.com and other posts but i am no mechanic so trying to find out best way to solve this problem without possible dealer issues. 25mm,14.5mm,10.5mm and 9mm? Thats a lot of mms!

i fitted 9mm gasket and after approx 500mls the eng/man light came on. Took it to dealer [still under warranty] and they fitted a14.5mm gasket. The original stutter returned, i then purchased a 9mm gasket and drilled it out to 10.5 mm........ perfect ever since. [ fabia vrs se]

I put a 9mm on mine about 10k miles ago. Been no problem since (I know!!! I've just cursed it!!)

They will be able to see in MBV regardess of tabs being cut off etc.

mbv?

Measured block values.

On diagnostics.

But to be honest they probably arent going to be too bothered unless you have an EGR issue.
