Just a quick info post really. While looking round the net for dash mounts, I came across dashmount.co.uk and noticed they also do skoda radio keys. I know people have asked about these in the past.

Strange the factory fitted radios in both my Felicia's and the 1.6LX Octy used a simple 2 prong key, not that flat looking thing in the above link. Now the Soney and Clarion units that I replaced the original Radio/Cassette players with used flat type keys.

I was given about three sets of Kenwood keys from the place I got my MP3 player came from. Now thats cheap, and they're fine for removing Skoda HUs.

I am unable to remove the radio and replece it with a headunit which i recently bought. I cant find the specific keys for the 2001, fabia

I called the guys up from dashmount.co.uk and they say the skoda keys they have are only for the 05's octavias :( please heeeelp!

I had loads of trouble obtaining the right keys for my skoda

So in the end when the car went for a service i asked for the radio to be taken out

which the dealers did for me

They said they would of took the radio out for nowt if i had brought the car down to them at any time.

Went for the hacksaw blade solution in the end :oops:

After some serious messing with keys etc.. with the original Skoda radios I finally worked it all out. Thought this might help.

This worked for me. the keys i bought didnt fit, even with the notches filed off. Wish i'd found this post a week earlier! Thanks for the info.
