I've seen Jackie Stewart's old F1 car at the Museum of Transport in Glasgow, and I have a vague recollection that I might have seen James Bond's Lotus Esprit when I was a sprog.

I think they belong to "the cars the star" in Keswick!?

This was at Beaulieu Motor Museum in Hampshire for a while for the James Bond exhibition - not sure if it's still there They also have a selection of the land-speed record breaking Thrusts as well as some famous motor racing cars. Well worth a visit

many years ago, I got an invite to Mellor Coachcraft in rochdale, who where refitting the original Adam West Batmobile.......

I used to go to Milton Keynes a bit, and one weekend, I was repeatedly overtaken or left for dead at lights by the same a grey Aston Vanquish.....in the days before it was a finalised model.

Also spent a merry half hour exploring the inside of one of TWO Maybach 62's on hot weather testing in Dubai.

OK, maybe the latter two are not truly "famous" cars, but they are symbols of stardom and wild excess respectively.......

Place to go for new models not yet released is Crawley. I don't know why, I've seen loads of pre-release cars driving around there.

One of my friends also bought a bmw 328 from crawley bmw - only when it eventually arrived it was a 330 (gutted!!) - first one in the country and had to wait a week for dvla to issue a road worthiness certificate!

Saw thrust ssc on the back of a trailer, a few days after they'd broken the land speed record.

Was on A5 near Rugby, kids liked it.

I saw an "Only Fools and Horses" van in the Algarve this summer - and there's also one always parked up at a haulage yard just off the M74 near J14. I guess the "real" one must be around somewhere !

Mind you, who knows if the ones I saw last night were originals or replicas ?
