origonal or uprated?

oh the choices that have to be made? obviously there is a massive saving on the origonal ones but do you think the uprated ones would be much better?

as a novice in the world of performance tuning i would probly have guessed yes they are alot better but everyone seems to go for 312mm rather than just better pads..... maybe the uprated pads arnt good enough to justify the extra cost?

Basically, in my experiance, EBC (greenstuff) aren't great for the money. They're definitely not worth the money and offer hardly any improvements over standard.

If you arent a hardcore track day enthusiast its not necesaru to fit the 312mm brakes or drilled/grooved discs etc but a good upgrade to give you better brake feel and better braking is to use standard discs and a set of uprated pads. heard bad reviews on the EBC stuff, however have heard good reviews on the likes of Mintex Extreme and Ferodo DS2500

Echo the above, EBC aren't very good. I wore a set of their Red Ceramic's out in under 4k miles in my Scoob. The previous OE pads lasted 20k and one trackday, and the Ferodo's after lasted 22k and 4 trackdays. The EBC Green's aren't even recommended any more for Scoobs by EBC themselves as they admit they're not up to the job, although smaller lighter cars might get more out of them. Doesn't instil any confidence in me though.

Mintex, Ferodo, Performance Friction, Pagid and Black Diamond are all worth consideration.
