thinking about a lupo tdi

Featured Replies

hi folks, my fabia is giving me a few problems at the moment so i've been thinking about buying a lupo tdi... £35 per year road tax:)

any views or opinions welcome

Do It :D

Only down side is carting things around as the boot is tiny (as you already know), still the TDI would be fun although I think you really want the GTI ;)

What about an arosa of the same period as bar a few bits it's the same car.

i need something that is cheapo to run, although the price of the tdi version lupo/arosa seems to be holding up quite high

Well if the boot space isn't an issue then I'd certainly do it assuming you can find a good example.

IIRC the arosa cost a lot less to insure than the Lupo, but that was down to the badge I'd guess.

we have had both an arosa tdi s and a lupo tdi sport the lupo is def the better car out of the 2 we had the lupo mapped to 112 bhp and it went like stink and still returned 60+ mpg. insurance wasnt that much different 2 groups i think but was worth it with the interior of the lupo but the arosa is less "girlie" looking

Get one

I had a couple, fantastic fun.

As mentioned, if you can live with no boot then its great.

Interiors deceptively spacious for a small car, and build quality is very good.

Also no glove box (unless you do the conversion from a polo)

I would go for the Lupo over the Arosa though, as I always thought the Arosa looked like a much cheaper car.

I do miss the go kart like fun, here were mine anyway, might help you decide

First I had a 1.4 16v sport

Then a GTi which was brilliant

My old friend Al, who is now AwesomeAl, had a stunning TDi

Pm him, he will tell you anything you want to know, he is a great guy

Cheers

Go for it :)

Lupo's are fun! Al's TDI was very nice! Would love a Raven Blue GTI though :D

Here was mine - 1.4 16v Sport

If your thinking along the lines of the Lupo/Arosa, don't forget about the Audi A2,

Same £35 a year to tax on the TDI, very high quality materials, though dont expect it to ride smoothly, they ride as rough as a badgers a-hole, however they go round corners like go-karts

I think they are rather attractive too, though that seems to be a strongly divided opinion. Will be more expensive to insure because it's made of Aluminium, and some companies wont insure them at all. Early Y plate cars with FSH can be picked up for 3-4k now

lol, see you bought one anyways but if anyone else is looking along these lines......

1.4TDi?

oh... haha, yeah 1.4tdi, it sounds a bit agricultural but it's cheap to run and i bet it will be a damned sight more reliable than my fabia has been

If you want it scaning on VAG-COM let me know and I'll bring mine into work and give it a scan for fault codes plus anything else you want doing on there.

Nice choice, is the paint in good nick as I like reds, but don't like the fade :(
