Mods and Insurance

Featured Replies

I have been doing a lot of complaining about the insurance situation in NI recently. I decided to see if it would be possible to get insurance for a remapped Octy vRS with a NI address. The answer is no, over the last 3 days I have phoned every car insurer and broker listed in NI yellow pages. Many will not even insure the standard vRS and most are very expensive even when they do. I am still not sure why Northern Insurance Services (part of Northern Bank) are so much cheaper for the vRS than others.

SO it looks like I will never be able to join the ranks of the moded vRS owners here (short of moving to mainland UK :().

William, I've put a post up on Scoobynet to ask about insurance for modded cars over in Norn Iron, as I'm sure there are modified Subarus over there.

Thanks, let me know how it goes. Perhaps you could ask them where they got done as well.

Try Quinn Direct, also try elephant and admiral and endsleigh and if this still fails to produce a reasonable quote join the forum reallymeansounds.com which is the biggest motoring forum in the province and search on "insurance" or post asking for their advice/ hope this helps/let me know how you get on
