Top stuff or marketing hype?

Discuss......

From what I have read and seen.... top stuff.

It is great stuff!! Really easy to apply, smells great, brilliant results. I recommend it highly

I'm not a fan, I prefer my toolkit of products from other makers :)

Plus I think they're seen very much as the 'new kid on the block' and seem to be creating some degree of hype around their products at the moment.

Detailing products are quite a personal choice though and often the results I see from using their products are very good. Just not better or different enough for me to change from what I'm using at the moment...

Steve

Never tried it, but have heard it's good. A lot of people over on Detailing World like it. Very much an AG SRP man myself, with Zymol as an SLP, or Megs Gold Class.

Got some Blue Velvet. Really easy to work with, smells great and lasts ages. Recommended!

Get a soft wax if your new to detailing

In my experience of Blue Velvet and Supernatural at least, top stuff :)

great stuff, there soft wax is easy to work with and leaves a nice wet look shine, also is good at beeding for a good while!

I use Dodo Juice 'Red Mist' Quick Detailer as top up on top of Bilt-Hamber Auto Balm Sealer and Collinite Marque D'Elegance Wax

I think that the branding of Dodo Juice is very clever and it will certainly attract a certain customer but I have used some of their products and never had a problem.

The only product I currently carry is Dodo Juice Lime Prime and I am a big fan of it...........like Steve I prefer some other brands but this is purely down to what I have bought in bulk in the past and still have left to use...........

I will see what I can source while out in the US but I think it's not as readily available out there............:(

Thanks everyone - a good spread of replies there.

From the comments it appears that either it is a very good wax, or the hype has worked. Probably a combination of the two in reality.

Personally I'm in the Wardy/Baker21 camp in that I don't think its a bad wax. Equally I'm not convinced by the marketing hype - although I think they have done an excellent job in this respect.

Put it this way - I know which of these looks the more expensive modern sexy wax, and I also know which one I prefer to use.....

i heard its good but its a lot of money.

people go on about beeding on the car? well I have never detailed my car but i got her new and have always put a coat of turtle wax pro on her and in the last year been usin the black wax and then a coat of the clear one, and my car beads. not put anything on for a while now and she still beeds nicely in the rain. is that coz there is that much on there?

Fastkwak gave me some info on detailing so gonna go for it this week. I am hoping it is better than whagt Ive been gettin with a good wash and a few coats of wax.

I think you're right. There is undoubtedly a lot of marketing going on with the Dodo brand...but the stuff does work as well. I'm happy to use it anyway, often in conjunction with Collinite and Jetseal as a durable 'base' if you know what I mean.

.......

I have to agree with you there and now have a large tin of the colli as the results from that are great and i can't think of any reason to spend more for something that won't last as well.

I think they are one of the better value boutique waxes, however I've already got plenty of other products that I'm very happy with.
