Octavia electric window problem.

Help!!

Out of the blue as I was mobile yesterday, my rear passender electric window automtically lowered itself to its fullest extent and now rests at that position. The door switch or cemntral switch cannot raise it. The child switch is not activated.

I have seen something somewhere that suggests battery disconnection could create door window problems. Although I haven't disconnected the battery the battery has been very flat and needed a jump start.

Any ideas?

Did the window wind itself down with a whine from the motor, or just drop with a thump, and now the motor runs fine, but the window doesn't move?

The window let itself down in an apparently controlled way - then stopped. It certainly didn't just drop.

Problem solved.

On a hunch I decided to try a manual lock of the car using the key and not the electric fob. Then hold the key fully clockwise. The result was all three remaining windows automatically opened fully. I then turned the key fully anti clockwise and held - wallah, all four windows closed themselves.

Must have inadvertently caused the window to lower - using the key in hold but still cannot see how only one window was affected.

You've done more or less what I was going to suggest, if your reply ruled out a regulator failure.
