Warning lights on startup

Featured Replies

How do gents

When we start up the Fabia, on the first position of the key all the usual warning lights come on, then go off. Apart from one. Which stays on, until the car is started and then it stays off. It looks like a gearbox sign... is this normal?

If its red, its the battery light, then your answer is yes

I would have thought engine management light, it's normal.

Cheers Chris. Its the exhaust one, its fine and does what it supposed to do.

No problem, cup holder fitted a treat. Might have to change my radio as the on/off button is in the bloody way.

Doesn't really matter, it's still the engine management light. From the handbook:

The warning light comes on after the ignition has been switched on.

If the warning light does not go out after starting the engine or it lights up or flashes

when driving, a fault exists in an exhaust relevant component. The engine management

system selects an emergency programme which enables you to drive to the

nearest specialist garage by adopting a gentle style of driving.
