HU advice - going for a change.

Featured Replies

HI. Looking to get a new HU, as I could do with one with more than one preout. As a result my KDC-M6024 will be for sale, if anyone's interested - almost new, and working well.

Here's a couple of HU's that got my eye on ebay

Pioneer DEH-P7500MP - I like the 3 hi-volt preouts, for excellent amplifier use. ;)

Same as above more of less but is the P7600MP. No "hi-volt" preouts though.

Any other suggestions? Not looking to spend more than

Alpine CDE 9828RB - MP3/WMA, 4x50W, 3xpre-outs, etc.

Rob.

Most of the top end blaupunkt models have 4 pre-outs and also a dedicated sub-output although to use these you need to buy some additional cables.

I am using an old sony cdxm-600r in the mondeo, with only the 4 pre-outs connected to the oem amplifier.

I'd like that 8600MP one, but don't really need DAB. I don't really need FM even normally as I think the only time the radio kicks in is for traffic alerts!

Seriously though, I can't spend too much money on this - I only need an extra preout. ;)

Jason, what you want for the Kenwood?

Jason, what you want for the Kenwood?

Offers in excess of

Does that include delivery?

JVC KDLHX502 - wicked unit

Clarion DXZ748RMP excellent spec and sound. Both highly underated units.

Pioneer 7600 does have 4 volt preouts. Though I must say the 8600 is a wicked machine. I think we have the 8600 on our website for silly money at the moment.....

8600 has got DAB control - not built in DAB, anything higher than the 3600/3630MP have all got DAB control built in.

I wouldn't go for the 9828 as I don't like the silver blue finish. The 9827 range look better and still 4x50 and 3 preout. I would think the 9827R would look nice in a Fabia (Black / geen).

How about one of these? Kenwood

Fully loaded and looks great (and top of my list for next month)

I'm assuming my pioneer will come with a cage and necessary wiring, so I'll include the "2 into 1" adaptor thingy mine came with, and the single DIN cage. Here's one piccie I have.

I thought the switchable tuner made it suitable for both sides of the pond.

Or am I wrong?

switchable tuner ??? Where does it say this ?? I've never known any Kenwoods to ever be switchable.

Jason, is yours the KDC-M6024 or KDC-W6024??

First one Jimmy ;)

KDC-M6024 for definite. :D

Says it here:

BRAND NEW KENWOOD KDC-MP925 (KDC-PSW9524) 3D MASK CD/MP3/WMA IN DASH CAR PLAYER. Switchable Tuner to Europe and USA! TOP OF THE LINE UNIT OF KENWOOD!!!

Would be interested to know if they're talking ******!

Err, I'd still vote for the Pioneer deh-p77mp retro looking one.

Plays mp3s and wma.

3 sets of high voltage preouts (front, rear, sub)

Not a load of gimmicks or gadgets, but top sound quality with d/a converters found only in
