Hi All, Just a quick introduction... I'm from Melbourne, Australia. I currently drive a RenaultSport Clio 172, which I love, but it's a bit small. I'm here to do a bit of research before I buy... I'm trying to decide between an '08 Skoda Octavia RS, or a '07 Megane 225 Cup... Cheers, Scott.

Welcome, I personally have never been a fan of the megane so would go for the octy myself!! Or maybe a clio 197 cup?

Hiya.

That's two Aussies joined in 24 hours.

I think the Megane would be the quicker car but the Octavia should feel quite a bit more spacious and a lot more solidly built. I know which would get my money from those two.

G'day mate.

Is the Megane a RenaultSport model or not? It'll be the faster car sure, but the Octy's better built than any nonRSport Renault (RSport is the Alpine factory).

Prepping to do 2.0TSi clutch in future - plenty of time and opportunity as I mentioned recently I have a 1.8T L&K Octy also ! I'd seen a comment at some point someone recommending to change rear main seal whilst you are in there. Something to watch for? Also as below

Hi! I'm in need of some help please. My Octavia estate sat for 8 months unused. The battery went flat (AGM Varta) and doesn't charge. I got the car started with a different battery and then swapped in the dead battery to see if it would start charging. BUT, now the engine was running I needed to move the car a bit and found that the gear stick won't go into reverse gear. It can select 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th but not reverse. I've ordered up a new AGM battery (due in a couple of days) but this reverse

Hello I have completely drained the cooling system to replace the coolant in my 1.4 MPI. To refill my Haynes manual says to remove the temperature sensor from the cylinder head to allow air to escape. I pulled out the clip and then lifted out the sensor which came out by pulling. I then filled the system until coolant was seen in the sensor hole. I then the replaced the sensor but noticed coolant leaking from it. On inspection noticed that the sensor was able to move up and down with the clip in

I have a rattle as stated above, we diagnosed it today as front brake pads rattling in the carriers. 2014 Fabia vrs, proving very difficult to source oem correct new carriers in red, I have ordered some from Autodoc and will paint them before we fit them It initially sounded like exhaust contacting chassis or loose subframe fasteners
