Now that the weather is getting better (?)

On Monday I went for a bike ride with a friend who has an Octavia-we put both bikes on the carrier and away we went.

Was that impressed with this particular carrier I went on Tuesday to Halfords to get one for my car.

On the back of the box was this piece of paper saying it fit all types of Skoda Fabia from 2000 to 2007.

So got it home unpacked it and tried to fit it to my car-couldn’t do it.

So made a polite phone call to my above friend who said bring it up with the car and we try and fit it together!

To cut a long story short an hour and half later we both gave up!

I took it back to the shop fully assembled and-asked for my money back!

Went into my local Skoda dealers to see if they have any-hoping they would be relatively cheap? No.

Plus for a rear carrier for my Skoda would need a tow bar fitted.

NOW TO THE POINT

Have any Fabia vRS owners had any success with any type of cycle carriers? If so which one’s?

I'd image the spoiler would get in the way with the rear mounted ones? I know it was an issue with my astra.

I doubt there would be any problem with mounting them on the roof instead? may be a little pricey mind.

I use a Thule roof rack and Thule cycle carrier.

I use thurle aero with halfrauds bike carriers on both Fabia & Octavia

On and off quickly, slowes in boot, all you need is the bike component.

I have used the sling on the back ones, but the upper straps do put weight on the spoiler, and being a rather narrow vehicle, it was a little precarious - I wouldn't have used it for 2 bikes...
