Got my car new in December last year - now done almost 2000 miles.

Contemplating going for the P-Torque remap, but am conscious of the fact it may impact on warranty.

Should I or shouldn't I ?

Any reasons or explanations would be gratefully received.

Also, can anyone recommend a good insurance company to go through who deal with modifications ?

Will remaped by CR Manual - best thing I have had done to the car. Besides the increased power, fuel economy is significantly improved on a sensible run!

Also Will let me know that the flash counter is reset to 0 so shouldn't even be noticable for warrenty issues!

having my Passat PD170 DSG remapped and i cant wait :)

Had mine done I would say no had to take it off again, There is a Skoda garage in N Ireland that will do it for you and stand over warranty ask your dealer maybe they have someone does it for them.

Sorry - it might be me being thick - which remap did you have done and then taken off again ?

Skoda don't apparently a recognised remap for the CR as they did with the REVO remap, which I believe they authorised, maintaining the warranty.

I have my RS CR remapped. The main concern I would have with remapping the DSG version is the torque output. I was dynoed at 352lb/ft of torque. Can the DSG handle this?

is this right? I know some dealers are REVO agents but i didnt know anything about it maintaining the warranty?

I could be wrong - I assumed that as they were authorised agents the product probably would be as well - I must admit I haven't looked into it in detail as they don't do a remap for the CR engine

when i spoke to a skoda dealer that was also a REVO agent, i asked him about warranty issues after the car had been mapped, to which his reply was, what map? we cant tell if the car has been remapped or not ;)

Your big issue is going to be the DSG gearbox, with the CR170 its already running close to its limits. It can be mapped but the gains will not be as much as with a manual gearbox.

i havent got a CR but i had the mrs Touran 2.0 tdi with DSG remapped and an well pleased with the results.

1through 3 is very quick. in fact the map went on better than i thought.
