Looks spot on mate:thumbup:

I need to do the same to my carpets as very dirty (drivers side):(

Looking good. Reminds me that I must do my seats and carpets again!

Most car cleaning companies will do the whole interior for not a lot more...

:)

lol cheers,

I still got 3 l of the stuff left and I did the carpets in the hose we in now. I dont wanna sit on them now lol as I dont remember them ever bein that clean.

Where do you hire them from? Someone told me you can get them from supermarkets?

Did you have to be careful with the black parts of the seats, not to get water in the seams and stuff?

P.s. I think I've got the sunlight sensor rattle sorted

They look good! I did mine at the start of the month and they're so much better!

You can get them from Morrisons, at least my local one has them...

most homebases have them aswell.

i bought one from graded electricals on ebay for around £30 in the end.

I didnt jus washed them and made sure I got all the liquid off. I wnet right into the corners and some did go on the leather. but soon as I finnished I used turtle wax leather stuff. the one in the cream bottle not the green one. then buffed it off. looks good I think.

it hasnt been able top get all the stains from the drvs side well. but has made a mahoosive diff lol. looks almost like new apart from the small stains were the rest is and accel pedal

Tesco do them too. I got mine from morrisons

Yeah the sunlight sensor is in two halves which weren't held together that well so I stuck some double sided trim tape in there and put it back together. No rattles yet fingers crossed.

Just checked and my local Homebase has a rug doctor

what is the sunlight sensor for???

what is the point in it bein there? I jus thought the boble was part of the trim lol

It's something to do with the climate control I think...

Yes, I think that it turns the wick up on the aircon when the suns out.

A bit like the thing on the radio that increases the volume as you speed up.

how dirty was the water that came out the doctor?? mine was brown when i first done it now its clear and the good thing is that carpet cleaning stuff that u have left over if u put some in a dish with water and a rag it keeps the seats cleaner when u just want to wipe over it

Good stuff,

I bought a Vax Rapide XL from Makro last year to do mine, it was about £80 inc 1l of pre wash 1l of AAA and 3L of Normal Cleaner and very good results.

Here is a before with the pre wash applied and one after.

..I did mine last year with a rug doctor and was really pleased with the results. However, I still have a 'grotty' area in the drivers side on the carpet. How easy is it to get the carpet out? I have access to a workshop with nessacary tools, and was thinking that I would probably get better results this year if I can lay the carpet flat and use the actual machine as I would in the house?

That and the fact that I managed to spill a coffe down the seat yesterday morning!!!

Thanks

Rob

lol

think you will need to take the lower part of the dash out and the centre console the seats and the lower trims pos

I treated the carpets and seats in mine, after using the usual spray on/ wipe off foam cleaners for the last 4 years. Each time I used the foam cleaners (Shout, etc), they looked clean initially, but soon water marks appear and just keep getting worse. I am convinced the foam leaves a powdery residue in the fabric, trapping the dirt.

I bought an Aldi wet and dry vacuum for €59 and it worked a treat. I used a solution of vanish oxy sponged on to the fabric, left for 1 or 2 minutes, then vacuumed off. I repeated this process, then used warm water sprayed onto the fabric to rinse, and vacuumed off. Once dry, I used Scotchguard fabric protector spray (it's supposed to repel water). So far the car is still pristine.

I gave my wife's car a going over with the same treatment, and all I can say is we never knew there was a pattern in the seat upholstery until we wet vac'd it!
