Installing Cruise Control in Roomster

Featured Replies

HI,

I am looking to buy the cruise control stalker for the Roomster. Does anyone got any links or share their experience to do this?

Thanks,

Apparently it's a complete pain and only just possible.

Have a search on here, it has been discussed I think but it's a lot of work.

It's possible, but a major pain in the ****, I am getting the dealer to do mine as I got a good all in price.

To give you a basic heads up, it involves removing the steering wheel, the drilling of the bulkhead and running a loom into the engine bay. Then it needs coding with VCDS, it is possible as a DIY if you are patient and handy with the spanners, but you would need to allow yourself half a day or so.

I asked my dealer and he quoted over £300!

Of course I will get the workshop people to do it... thus I just need to buy the stalk...

It seems like it is more than just replacing the stalker... ?

Strange. Why then, for example, is fitting cruise control in Octavia I so simple (and cheap)?

See post 3 above :)

The Roomster needs a complete new wiper / indicator stalk, the steering wheel has to be removed to do this as the unit is all in one (wiper / indicator) and then a hole needs to be drilled in the bulkhead (and rustproofed) and the ecu locating in the engine bay then all the "plumbing" done.
