hot tuning coilovers

i know they are budget but has anyone used these,or got them on thier octy vrs?need to get suspension and brakes done quick and the brakes are first which only leaves a small amount for coils in the interim period!?

i had a set on my fabia vrs.i would highly recommend them for the quaulity and cost.only problem i had was that the front ones are bare metal thats polished and did not have a coating that stopped them from corroding so will probally paint the next set i buy.

Make sure they are the correct poundage for the Octy vRS , as very few make them for the car and the Golf/Jetta etc are not right, also make sure the front struts have the brackets for the drop links and brake pipes?

Save up your money and buy the proper ones such as AP, KW, Wietec etc, otherwise its more money to buy twice.

Read the various posts on here first before parting with your money on AP's. They are not getting good press for the Octy VRS.

yeah just been doing research on the AP coils so they are out!what about v-maxx ?

Seen a post on here for a user that has them and wrote good press on them if this helps. Bugdet kits are a hit and miss for folks and you will see only a handful of kits that this site rate for the MK1 VRS. These are Koni, Weitec and KW. Other VAG modules such a the Golf seem to be using Hot tuning, V-Maxx and FK kits so they can't be too bad for those folks. The Octy VRS is one it's own because of the weight difference and overall different characteristcs in handling.

So you may find it is trial and error on these.

Hi There, Read this thread half way down and you will see my VRS with Weitecs fitted (silver one under Bowders1)

http://briskoda.net/octavia-i/ap-coilover-fitted/139309/

I dropped mine 25mm over standard height. As written in the threads the handling is superb and I find the comfort good, obviously not as comfortable as the standard set up, but enough for me and a number of other happy customers on here like claytarget. I only have mine adjusted half way so have plenty more to go, not that I would lower any more as the front splitter will be left behind.

that dont look too bad at all nice little drop and levels the car out instead of the typical nose down stance! cheers for the link.in you honest opinion is it comfortable as a dialy driver and also wud be ok ride/drive for the other half and the nipper?

I have a 1 year old, a 5 year old and a 15 year old in the car and no issues. I think with 4 adults it will be low. Still comfortable for me. You can always raise it a little if need be which will also make it more comfortable. Depends what you are used to really. I can't say it is uncomfotable. My Mrs is used to the car being low as most of my other cars have been lowered over the years. My MK1 RS turbo was mega stiff and low and she did'nt grumble at that. The mother in law did though. Kept falling into the seat when getting in the car.

had hot tuning coilies in my ocky no complaints here

Hi

yes , the Weitec`s are superb!!! part of the KW group

The prices are the same £488.14 including VAT wherever you go , as Weitec and KW do not allow discount , it is all at retail prices

You tend to find that it usually takes approx 7 working days to get to you

If you need any help , I am always available

Sarah
